Gina Olivetti

When Gina Olivetti quit the SDPD to become a private investigator, her brother, Tony, a detective on the Metro Arson Strike Team, told her she was making the biggest mistake of her life. Sometimes the cases she gets make her think he was right.  But Gina is glad to be free from the restrictions, rules, requlations and requirement of being a sworn officer, while still chasing bad guys.

The Gina Olivetti mysteries revive the ambiance of 1940s hardboiled noir private-eye mysteries, but sets them in 21st Century Southern California, marking a stark contrast to the vision of San Diego found in the Sun, Surf and Slaughter^tm of the Kate Roark mysteries.
